The winding road between Behramkale and Ayvacik

The roads around the northern Aegean coast of Turkey are good - generally well kept and scenic. Filled with lush countryside, valleys and the occasional glimpses of the sea, it is overall a great drive.

The road connecting Behramkale and the nearest large town - Ayvacik - is a narrow, twisty mountain road with amazing views, and one of those amazing drives that scares and exhilarates. There are parts that are on mountain edges with no safety barriers; there are lush valleys and small villages; but above all an enjoyable drive.
